A few friends and I decided to place a combined ColourPop order as it was cheaper for postage. Unfortunately with the dollar being so bad lately, it’s almost impossible to order anything from the USA unless you get someone to help share shipping costs. We were able to split it 5 ways, so postage wasn’t too bad!
So, what did I get?!
Shadows – La La, Bill and Partridge.
Lippie Stix – Westie, Fighter & Pencil and LBB.
Cheeks & Highlighters – Butterfly Beach and Birthday Suit.
(I’m still getting used to the blush & highlighter. With them being a cream/powder hybrid like the eyeshadows I’m trying to work out the best way for application). I’ve done a review on ColourPop before but I cannot stress enough the quality of their products. I’ve never seen anything like it! I’d love to order the entire website in one go, but as I said due to a bad dollar exchange and postage costs, that will never happen. I will continue to expand my collection bit by bit, they are by far becoming one of my favourite cosmetic companies ever! 🙂
It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these! However I have the greatest brand and products that tie in well with a first impressions post.ColourPop Cosmetics are a small US cosmetics brand that is fast becoming wildly popular worldwide. They only recently (15th of Jan 2015 to be precise) introduced shipping to Australia and NZ, so now we can access these great products as well!! One of the reasons people are mad for them are their prices, everything they sell is only $5! Even though the US to AU price is really bad at the moment, they still are really affordable. Also, I just want to throw in there, they gave me an eyeshadow for free. I squealed pretty loud when I saw it, as it was a shade I was contemplating buying next! Ok, so onto my first impression.
OH MY GAWD. How can you make a powder feel like a creme yet not be a creme? Also they are SO pigmented, all my swatches are only one swipe. I had to use an oil-based makeup remover to get them off my arm as well. Lasting power you ask? They didn’t budge all day! There was no fall out when applying and they didn’t melt off my eyelids throughout the day either. I tested these on an extremely hot and humid day when I was sweating constantly. I also like how you can control how much product goes onto your eyes, with using fingers they go on heavy but by using a brush they can go on lightly. Highly recommend!
All the shades of Lippie Stix I purchased have a matte finish. They are so creamy and hydrating for a matte lipstick, however I’d recommend exfoliating beforehand. My swatches are one swipe only, so you can see how pigmented they are! As much as I like them I wish they had a better lasting power, after eating you need to reapply. This doesn’t bother me too much but it can get annoying. I’m definitely going to purchase more shades and different finishes as well to see if they’re just as good.
I cannot say enough how much I love this brand, I cannot wait to add to my collection 🙂
